This AOC is peculiar by its altitude: it is the lowest of all the AOC of the region, 700 m. It offers optimum luminosity and low temperatures for the creation of this type of wine composed of Chardonnay (90%) and Pinot Noir (10%). It ages on the lees for 28 months.
This wine is the result of an audacious project by Lamberto Frescobaldi inspired by his grandmother Leonia who was the first to plant Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines in the vineyards of Pomino, winning the gold medal at the Expo in Paris, in 1878 for the quality of her wines.
"Leonia is a wine dedicated to the audacious and those who want to discover new ways.
A wine that was a challenge, inspired by my grandmother, and dedicated
to my daughter, Léonie, and to all those who have a dream. "
Lamberto Frescobaldi, President of Frescobaldi
A slightly bronze, satiny and elegant gold color creates the background of the label and reflects the sweetness and the aromas of this wine (yellow fruits, warm honey). We have preserved the feminine and traditional dimension with the lace of parts and others of the coat of arms, central and statutory. A short, black capsule for the benefit of modernity extends the line of the bottle.
The label is made on a PET for a perfect taut appearance and optimum resistance to the ice bucket.
